Bumble 1996-2005 - 14/05/2005
Bumble was Lornas first guinea pig, and she lived with her friend Delilah from when Lorna first had them as babies. When Deliah passed away a few years ago, she formed a very strong friendship with Tilly. Bumbles death has knocked Tilly sideways and we can only hope she will accept the company of another guinea pig soon.
Bumble was such a special guinea pig. She had never shown agression to anyone or anything and over the course of her time with us she has been company for various ill and baby guinea pigs, always nursing them with very great care. The photo shows Bumble patiently caring for a baby guinea pig called Toffee. She was so kind to many baby guinea pigs throughout the years and always offered up a warm tummy to hide under.
6 weeks ago Bumble had surgery to remove 2 huge ovarian cysts. She made an excellent recovery, thanks to the skill of our vet, Ivan Crotaz and her last few weeks were happy and pain free.
Last night Bumble deteriorated suddenly and we kept her warm and comfortable overnight. This morning she passed away quietly in Lornas arms.
Her legacy remains all around her at the rescue and she will never be forgotten.
