New Year and New "thankyous" - 05/01/2006
We want to day a massive thankyou to everyone who brought lovely treats, gifts and donations for the animals over christmas. There seemed to be so many acts of kindness, we just didnt have time to say thankyou to everyone individually.
We also has a very kind gift of a virtually brand new indoor recovery cage from someone who dropped it off when one of our volunteers was here the sunday before xmas. The lady has adopted a bunny from us but we dont know who it was. If it was you...THANKYOU!!!!..and please tell us who you are!
Of course, there was also some very sad stories over the festive period. We took in 6 flea ridden underweight rabbits, of which 3 were tiny babies, when some heartless person turned them out loose onto a golf course and into freezing temperatures on christmas eve. The RSPCA inspector managed to capture 2 of them and brought them to us after the local RSPCA centre in the area refused to take them (remember this before you donate to them in the future). We went back several times to collect as many as we could. However, we know we werent able to catch them all and amongst those we couldnt save was the mother of the 3 babies. They are now being ably cared for by foster mum Justine. Special thanks must also go to volunteers Rob and Claire who even came out to the site on christmas day! Now thats dedication for you.
As always, the rescue has started the year full to bursting with rabbits in need of homes and, as always, we need helpers who can assist with cleaning out duties and foster carers as well as long term homes. Can you help? If you can, please dont hesitate to get in touch.
Wishing all of our supporters and very Happy New Year, 2006.
Love Lorna, Jamie, Bailey, Misty and all the animals. X
